I am a sucker for other home oriented blogs...

I literally spent the last two days reading blogs..which I loved..Young house love, apartment therapy and design sponge..

here is my inspiration..

here are some coooool tv trays. I actually have some awesome trays via Brady's G'ma that I will be painting ....

Here is a bouquet that shows some brooches mixed in with real flowers. so cool. Reminds me of my wedding bouquet.
sweet little shelf made out of a drawer!

I would never be this organized.. but I thought it looked nicer than a shelf full of nasty painted Glidden cans!

So, it is kinda random...

I am so loving this picture from our wedding day. It makes me reflect on just how great my best girl friends are. :) My dress bottom was hand made, as I'd posted in the past, by my mother n wonderful aunts:)... anywho it held a lot of debris and needed a ton of fluffing. Girl-friends are the best!

Random

So, I am slacking with getting up pix of the finished floors.. hmm. I guess it is b/c we jumped right into a few 100 additional projects and our house is a mess. Our fabulous flooring is covered in a thick layer of sawdust and a few other items.

But I do have some funny pix of my Halloween puppies :)

Floor Project

Sooooo .. there were tears, there was blood.. but we did it! After a little hard work and what seems like a zillion hours, we have finally ALMOST finished our concrete floors.

First, let's take a look at the before pix...

Here we are working on the floors...

I could not be happier with the results! They still need the top coat and the stain is going to darken a little.. so stay tuned for those pix!

Look how good my bathroom mirror will look with the floors once we finish the bathroom!

Haunted House Progress

Just kidding.. but all these pix have little dust specs.. or Orbs, if you watch ghost shows. tehe.

bedroom 1.. I can't resist showing my story of how hard it is to cover up stripes! I didn't go with the Valspar Paint/Primer combo.. I heard it didn't work as great as the commercial brags. So I did 4 coats of primer.. then one coat of paint. Now that is a lot of primer! ... NEVER paint stipes on your walls.

Then there is the hardwood floors.. It was not problem for me, b/c Brady didn't think I'd be stong enough to run the drumb sander, so I got to watch!.. Actually, I took a finishing brush to all the paint lines that bled through the painters tape and sanded the bathroom linen cabinets that I will be painting black!
Anywho, if you ever need to re-finish hardwood floors, a drumb sander is the only way to go! We did everything in less than 5 hours.

And here is the finished (well half finished) result of the kitchen addition. :)

O my!

^we are bumping out our kitchen wall to make more walking space for the refrigerator.

^there are about 5 layers of flooring in the kitchen. This pic was taken after two layers and a baseboard were removed. yikes!

^we are so lucky to have the luxury of being able to use the Sletten Dump truck for all our demo work.

KITCHEN

^my kitchen should look just like this! We ordered our cabinets from Home Depot..I hope they don't all come broken b/c I've heard nightmares about them. They do however have the best service in town.
The floors and counters will be done with a concrete overlay! This is the most exciting thing going into our home! It is going to be a huge project, but very worth it!
BATHROOM

^I ordered this "copper" mirror from Pier1..I am super excited about this!
^unfinished cabinets from Home Depot. I am going to have them stained black! We wanted to build a floating vanity, but Brady just won't have the time with all of our other projects.

CEILINGS
We are doing a broom brush texture..or whatever you call it! It looks AMAZING. It was EASY. And..it hides most taping flaws and what not!
